Nagano Prefecture is located in inland Japan, away from the sea, and has a relatively large area of valley plains nestled between mountains. The inland climate is cooler throughout the year than in many other parts of Japan, with hardly any hot days, making it comfortable outside even in the summer. This makes Nagano an ideal location for international students looking to pursue their studies in a cooler climate. While Nagano has fewer universities than major cities like Tokyo, international students can enjoy a friendly, at-home atmosphere to study in. There is also convenient access by Shinkansen high-speed train to destinations such as Tokyo, and in spring 2015 the line will extend further northwest as well. This makes Nagano a well-situated home for international students that want to visit the different regions of Japan.
You can search information about academics and access maps of Graduate schools that recruit international students.
