Aichi Prefecture is located in the middle of the Chubu region, which has a unique culture and economy separate from the Kanto region, centered on Tokyo, or the Kansai region, centered on Osaka. Aichi is home to the Chubu International Airport, known better by its nickname, Centrair, which is often used by tourists and students from overseas. Nagoya City is the prefectural seat of Aichi, and it is covered extensively by subway lines, providing convenient transportation around town. Aichi has many industrial operations, the first and foremost being automobile manufacturing. Due to the proximity to these companies, there are a number of scholarships available in Aichi that attract international students who are interested in studying in related fields.
