Japan's civil war period, Azuchi-Momoyama period, and Edo period saw many "daimyo", or feudal lords, come to power throughout the countryside. Some of these lords converted to Christianity and as such were known as the "Christian Daimyo". Many of these Christian Daimyo ruled in Oita Prefecture. This history makes for an interesting experience for international students, as they can experience Japan's traditional hot spring spas in an international atmosphere. Throughout history, Oita has been a focal point of active international exchange, and today international students are actively recruited to come and study there. Just like the daimyo of the past, the universities of Oita are leading the way in developing the international minds of tomorrow.
You can search information about academics and access maps of Graduate schools that recruit international students.
